The McClymonts announced their national tour dates from a snow covered Nashville TN where they were writing songs for their 3rd album with a number of Nashville’s most successful writers in January (see announcement video on www.themcclymonts.net). The group’s producer, Nathan Chapman, who also produces Taylor Swift’s albums, was guiding these writing sessions with the girls.
2010 was an amazing year for The McClymonts. In January they released their 2nd album, Wrapped Up Good, which achieved Gold sales in 10 weeks and entered the ARIA charts at #2 – behind Susan Boyle. The first 3 singles Kick It Up, Wrapped Up Good and Hearts on Fire went to number one on the country charts. In the wake of the release of Wrapped Up Good their debut album Chaos and Bright Lights also went Gold.
As 2010 came to an end The McClymonts were awarded the ARIA for Best Country Album of the year and performed at the televised event with the legendary INXS. A few weeks after this award The McClymonts were announced as finalists in 5 categories at the Australian Country Music Awards. The girls took home the award for ‘Group or Duo of the Year’, their sixth Golden Guitar.
With their exquisite three-part harmonies, soaring vocals and stunning onstage presence, it’s not surprising that The McClymonts have become the hottest new act in Australian country music and fast becoming the talk of the industry in the USA. The McClymonts will be touring Australia until the end of May and then they will head off to the USA to base themselves in Nashville for their next assault on the US Market. The McClymonts are booked for major summer festivals and State Fair shows throughout the summer in America. These shows will be supporting the release of their current Wrapped Up Good album in the USA.
The McClymonts will return to Australia with a brand new album in their luggage in November. The album will be recorded during the American summer with the USA’s hottest country music produce Nathan Chapman. We can look forward to an early 2012 release in Australia.
