Melbourne based musician Jules Boult has already turned a lot of heads in the blues industry. His progression into a performer came naturally but only after dipping his toes into an array of eclectic positions from oil rigger to model – his feet are now firmly planted in the music industry. From listening to his father play in their family home, Jules Boult grew up surrounded by live music, so it was really no surprise that he returned to the comforts of home and established himself a career in the industry.

His music and performance remains true to the blues tradition and his effortless demeanor has been closely linked with that of the genre’s legendary predecessors. Boult’s songs are imbued with a good sense of humour and this is reflected in both his lyrics and performance style, consequently, revealing his true character. This consummate musician’s sound is unyielding despite the fact that his performances remain graceful and without tension. Audiences are constantly captivated by Boult’s intimate and interactive performance style landing him the title of a must see live musician for any lover of music.
Mark My Words is Boult’s second album, and as an independent release it has already received very approving reviews from critics. The album release has also seen him awarded Best New Talent at the 2011 Australian Blues Music ‘Chain’ Awards - a coveted accolade indeed. The album is an exploration of sorts, and sees him spread his talents across guitar, piano, banjo, fiddle, ukulele and vocals.

Performing at the 3rd annual Cairns Blues Festival for the first time, Jules Boult will bring his seasoned professionalism, and a little bit of Melbourne, to the stage in Far North Queensland. Jules Boult is set to play at 4.00pm on the Hill Top Stage. This promises to be an unforgettable performance that all music lovers will enjoy.

Pre-sold tickets are available through Ticketlink for $50 and any remaining will be available on the gate on the day for $60 for adults, $30 for those aged under 17 and free of charge for those under the age of 13.
