FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – MEDIA RELEASE
In an intimate concert setting, Tiffani Wood will honour the timeless music of the Carpenters.
They were the biggest-selling group of the 70’s. No fewer than 10 of their singles went on to become million-sellers, and by 2005 combined worldwide sales of albums and singles well exceeded 100 million units. Yet the Carpenters were much more than creators of beautifully crafted and hugely successful hit records. Within the space of just a few years their unique and inimitable sound had brought a new dimension to the world of popular music.
The Carpenters’ music has proven to succeed beyond anyone’s wildest expectations. Each year, another generation responds to the truly timeless appeal of two people who have quietly changed the world of popular music.
Tiffani Wood will perform a selection of songs from the extensive Carpenters song book that have inspired her musical journey thus far. Songs include Close to You, Yesterday Once More, Please Mr. Postman, We’ve Only Just Begun, Solitaire and many more.
Wood is best known from Australia’s all time biggest selling female group Bardot. After touring the world, number one hits, platinum and gold singles and albums and great success the band called it a day. After the disbandment, Tiffani curved out a career as an independent solo artist with the release of her album Bite Your Tongue. The three singles Spin The Bottle, Devil In Your Soul and I Touch Myself all reached the Top 10 on the AIR Charts.
Subsequent to the release of Bite Your Tongue, Wood gave birth to her daughter Lillian.
With baby Lillian in her life, Wood became one famous ‘Yummy Mummy’, sharing on the wonders of motherhood in fashion and parenting magazines as well as on television. Wood released her first children’s album Acoustic Dreams — Lullabies For Babies, which stayed in the top 50 on the Children’s Music iTunes charts for nearly a year. Wood also launched an online fitness platform for women - Mummylush.com.
In 2008, Wood changed direction and took to the stage in her first musical Las Vegas Confidential. Shortly after, Wood starred in Valentino.
After taking time to focus on raising her daughter as a single mum, Wood is back! In 2011, Wood will not only star in Yesterday Once More but will also open her first singing school and write her first book. Wood is also back in the studio, writing and recording new songs for a future release.
