FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – MEDIA RELEASE

Schoolfight has undeniably made their mark on the Australian Hip-Hop scene from the time they formed in 2003. Since, they’ve joined other well-known Australian Hip-Hop acts such as Bluejuice and Butterfingers on local tours. The group regularly performs sold out shows in their home town of Brisbane and will without doubt get the crowd pumping when they join the already impressive line-up for Far North Queensland’s annual Kuranda Roots Festival.

This five-piece is comprised of Zac Eakin (Emcyte) on vocals, JB Lester (Slim) on keyboard and vocals, Jade Warpeha (Charchie) on bass, Winston H Chadwick III (Winnie) on guitar and Kasper Skou taking control of beats. They describe themselves as a hip-hop, alt country, reggae, funk and soul act. Their ability to move flawlessly through these various styles throughout their set has kept the fans and music lovers alike returning to see a very highly skilful and entertaining live performance. With so many elements involved in the music they create and a highly engaging live show the group offers something for everyone to enjoy.

Schoolfight gave us an outstanding demo in their early days which was very quickly embraced by local radio with copious plays and a very keen interest from the listeners. Since then they’ve released a their first full album, Big Man On Champers which really gave them a name when it was picked up by Triple J and received regular spins on throughout the station. With national coverage and a grounded name in presenting a high standard of music the radio station was a solid launch pad for the group. From here Schoolfight scored tour dates and booked well known Australian venues such as The Zoo in Queensland where the band was able to showcase their eclectic talents and give their fans a taste of what they had to offer. Schoolfight has been well recognised as highly engaging Australian musical act and used on various extreme sports videos as well as the very popular SBS comedy show, Fat Pizza.

Already there have been many exciting things on the cards throughout 2011. They band is in the studio with a follow up to Big Man On Champers in the works, as well as having tour dates planned for fans down south later in the year. The group is sure to raise the bar this year at Kuranda Roots Festival with their performance and give audiences a taste of what they’re working on.
