FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – MEDIA RELEASE

Paul CostaReturning to Tamworth for an annual pilgrimage, four time Golden Guitar nominee Paul Costa will be taking advantage of his one off festival gig to showcase material from his forthcoming new album. The charismatic performer will also be drawing on favourite tracks from his three previous albums, including his latest release In This Life, and performing his latest single Time Goes By.

“Show audiences can expect a fun packed high energy show with some funny stories thrown in,” Paul says. “And of course a list of crowd favourite hit songs including House Of Mirrors, The Way You Make Me Feel, Survivor 1932 and In This Life.”

Well known for his unforgettable live shows, Paul Costa is a favourite on the live scene and his Tamworth shows are always highly anticipated. And it’s not just audiences who look forward to these special festival performances, Paul admits he feels like he’s returned home when taking to the stage in the country music town. “Going back to Tamworth to perform is kind of like a huge get together for special friends that share a common bond, the love of country music,” he says. “All topped off with an atmosphere that can be described as electric, making it an event that keeps you wanting to go back.”

Paul released his third album In This Life in April 2009. The first single from the much anticipated as yet untitled fourth album, Time Goes By, was released to radio in July this year, and was the perfect introduction to his next release. Penned by Paul and his long-time producer (and collaborator) Rod McCormack, the first single highlights the maturity of Paul’s songwriting, while touching on a topic that will resonate with fans. His new album is an opportunity for Paul to further explore songwriting and delve into his recent experiences and emotions for inspiration.

“Recording for the new album starts this month [October] with Rod McCormack again in the producer’s chair,” Paul says. “All the tracks have been penned by myself, with the help of some of Australia’s finest songwriters. The album will have some great stories, but also reflect on how I’m feeling about life right now, which I believe is a very special time – not only with my career, but also personally.” Paul says this is particularly pertinent now after the birth of his son Dylan, who, coincidently will his celebrate his first birthday on the date of the show in Tamworth.

Paul Costa - TamworthPaul will be embodying the party atmosphere at his Tamworth show, and also inviting some special guests to the stage. “I’ll be having friends on my show that I’ve worked with and recorded with over the last few years,” he says. “Great mates that make travelling and performing shows around Australia so much fun!” This will definitely be an unforgettable, high energy fun packed show!
