Australia's darlings of country music The McClymonts were awarded the coveted 2011 CMA Global Country Artist Award at the annual CMA International Reception ‘45th Annual CMA Awards’, held in Nashville on November 7. The award was presented by CMA Chief Executive Officer Steve Moore.

"Wow, after five months of living here in Nashville, to have picked up the CMA Global Country Artist Award is an absolute honour," said Brooke McClymont, speaking for herself and her sisters. 

Born in Grafton NSW, the McClymonts performed to sell-out crowds around the country in support of their most recent album ‘Wrapped Up Good’. The album entered the ARIA charts at #2 and went Gold. They won the Best Group honours at the Country Music Awards of Australia in four of the past five years, and they earned Best Country Album honours from the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) in 2008 and 2010.

The McClymonts expanded their territory to the United States by opening for Jason Aldean on his Fall 2010 tour, and in 2011 they released Wrapped Up Good in the U.S. On Nov. 23, they will perform at Tootsie's 51st Birthday Bash at the legendary Nashville venue.

The Global Country Artist Award recognizes outstanding achievements by a Country Music artist originally signed outside of the United States - in both furthering the popularity of Country Music and bringing attention to the Country Music format in their foreign based territory.

After spending 6 months touring the USA The McClymonts will return to Australia with a spectacular concert during the Tamworth Country Music Festival on Wednesday 25th January at Tamworth Regional Entertainment Centre.
