FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – MEDIA RELEASE
As The McClymonts release the third single – the title track – from their new album Two Worlds Collide album, they also announce their highly anticipated 2013 Tamworth Country Music Festival show and the first of a new series shows that is called the Acoustic Harmony Tour.
The three sisters – Brooke, Samantha and Mollie – will return to TRECC for a massive show on Thursday 24th January, performing songs from their most recent release Two Worlds Collide and all the songs fans have been requesting on line in a show that will cover the girls musical history, starting back to the release of their first EP in 2006. The 2013 Tamworth show will be a little different, according to Samantha McClymont. “We want to create a more intimate vibe,” she says. “People always tell us they just want to sit back and listen to our harmonies, so that’s what we’re doing. We are going out with just our guitars and singing everyone’s favourite songs from the last three albums. Our musicians will all be playing acoustic and unplugged.”
This will be a rare opportunity for audiences to experience the girls’ in way they have never seen them before. The emphasis for this show is on the trio’s extraordinary harmonies and the girls will take the audience through their career on a musical journey that will include some very funny stories about their career to date. “We’ve been touring non-stop for the past six years and it’s always been a high energy show,” says Brooke McClymont. “We thought we’d change it up a bit by stripping everything back and letting people hear our three voices in a more personal setting.”
The girls have been attending the Tamworth Country Music Festival since they were youngsters. It is still one of the most important events on their calendar every year. “It’s that one time of year you can catch up with fellow artists and celebrate the year that’s been,” says Samantha. “We’ve seen Tamworth evolve in so many ways; we started busking on the streets, to then moving onto the talent quests and now headlining our own shows at TRECC. We have seen the numbers grow year to year and the music move from not only country to a whole range of genres.”
The McClymonts released their third album – Two Worlds Collide - in May this year. The first single from the album How Long Have You Known hit radio at the 2012 Tamworth Country Music Festival and was followed up with the impressive ballad Piece of Me. The album was recorded between Nashville and Sydney and featured three of the world’s most well respected producers, Peter Asher (James Taylor, Cher, Linda Ronstadt), Nathan Chapman (Taylor Swift) and Luke Wooten (Dierks Bentley).
