FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – MEDIA RELEASE
The Reef Hotel Casino has lined up a huge array of first-class entertainment for its Australia Day celebrations – so huge, in fact, that the event is set to last a week! With mesmerising music performances running from January 23 to 28, the Casino is proud to announce its six-day dedicated dinkum mini-fest, dubbed The Great Aussie Wave.
The Great Aussie Wave features big days and bigger nights on the Casino’s much-loved Vertigo stage. The huge bill of local and national acts includes singing superstar Jason Singh – best known as the force behind the multi-award-winning Aussie pop sensation, Taxiride. Since Taxiride’s ARIA-award-winning triumphs, Jason has carved out an impressive international solo career that has seen him share stages with the likes of Tina Turner, Matchbox 20, Train, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Snoop Dogg and Australia’s own rock legend, Jimmy Barnes.
Another major Australian star, Andrew Wishart, makes a very welcome return visit to The Reef Hotel Casino. Andrew rocketed to national fame last year when he won television’s most popular talent show, X Factor. Since then he has gone on to establish himself as one of the most compelling and honest entertainers in the country.
Some of the best performers from Far North Queensland add extra dimensions of star quality and fun to the Casino’s week-long Aussie Day bash. The amazing Dave Cook, for instance, is set to enthrall with his contemporary fusion of modern Australian tunes and traditional didgeridoo. The very talented Sunbird will lay down beautiful harmonies, and the ever popular Montgomery Brothers will ensure that the festivities kick off in damn fine style. But that’s not all! Bringing down the curtain on the Great Aussie Wave will be twin FNQ musical success stories, Kamerunga and the Snake Gully Ensemble.
In a week full of fantastic music it’s hard to pick favourites, but arguably the highlights of the Casino’s Australia Day celebrations will be the performances by Jason Singh and Andrew Wishart on the nights of Friday, January 25, and Saturday, January 26 – followed by the pair delivering a very special acoustic show on the afternoon of Sunday, January 27.
Throughout the week, The Reef Hotel Casino will be offering a dazzling variety of specially prepared patriotic Australian cuisine, as well as a heap of great promotions and prizes. All up, it’s enough to make you wish every Australia Day lasted a week. The Reef Hotel Casino – the only place to play this Aussie Day!
The Great Aussie Wave runs from 23-28 January for the week of Australia Day celebrations. Jason Singh and Andrew Wishart perform on Friday 25 January and Saturday 26 January on the Vertigo stage. They’ll also be joining forces for a special acoustic performance on Sunday 27 January.
