FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – MEDIA RELEASE
After hitting the road and taking their unique style of Australian country to audiences in New South Wales and Victoria, The Sunny Cowgirls announce the next leg of their massive national tour – this time heading through Queensland and South Australia.
The What We Do national tour supports the album release of the same name, released in January this year. The album has already produced one hit with the first single Green and Gold, an anthem to Australia, and the second leg coincidently coincides with the release of the second single Kids Forever, due for release this April.
One half of The Sunny Cowgirls, Celeste Clabburn says the tour, which kicked off at the 2013 Tamworth Country Music Festival, has been a heap of fun so far. “It feels great to finally be playing the new songs off of the What We Do album, and they’ve been going over really well at the shows,” she says. “It’s exciting to see some fans already know the words to the new songs. The gigs we’ve done so far have been heaps of fun and the crowds have been pretty big, which gives the whole show a great vibe. So far the What We Do tour has been amazing.”
Being on the road is something that The Sunny Cowgirls do best. They’re well known for their solid touring ethic and getting out to regional areas is important to both sisters. “I think it’s really important that we get out to as many towns as possible,” says Celeste. “Lots of our fans don’t live in major cities – and I think we owe them a trip! I love getting out of the cities when we tour. An occasional trip to a city is good fun, but there’s something a bit special when you’ve got a big day of driving ahead of you, followed by a gig that night. We are a real team out on the road – us, the band, the crew. We’re all good mates, so it’s always fun!”
It’s been quite a while since The Sunny Cowgirls have been out to the regional areas of Australia, so they were determined to make sure that a run through both states was on the agenda for the What We Do tour. “It’s been way too long since we’ve toured Queensland and South Australia,” says Celeste. “The first time we ever toured both states was in 2005, so it will be great to get back now eight years later with five albums under our belts. Obviously we can’t wait to see how our fellow Queenslanders like the new songs! It’s been about three years since we toured South Australia and there’s always a great vibe, so we’re really looking forward to it.”
New Talent Golden Guitar winner Chelsea Basham will be joining the girls as their special guest on their May tour dates.
