FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – MEDIA RELEASE
After what has already been a massive year so far, powerhouse country artist Jess Holland is hitting the road again for her first East Coast tour of 2014. She recently wrapped up a huge Top End tour, playing to fans throughout the Northern Territory, and now adds shows in Victoria and Ballarat to her hectic touring schedule. With her latest single Revolving Door heating up the airwaves, Jess is set to share not only some new material, but also favourites from her recent second long-player Whole Lot To Say and her debut release Introducing… Jess Holland. There may even be a few special covers thrown in of songs that have influenced this impressive singer songwriter throughout her career.
Kicking off the East Coast tour with a coveted slot at the Deni Muster, Jess Holland certainly has a whole lot to say and audiences are in for a real treat when she comes to town. As a full-time musician, Jess spends a lot of her time on the road and she is the first to admit that she really loves touring. “Everywhere you go, everyone is so friendly and love their country music,” she says. It was much like this for her recent Top End tour, which was the first time the songstress has performed in the Northern Territory. “The Top End was a fantastic experience,” she says. “Between the fantastic people and the packed out gigs, I am very keen to head back up there again next year. The whole vibe of the area was so relaxed, which suits me down to the ground, and everyone was so friendly. The response to my album was huge.”
Jess released her latest long-player earlier this year to much acclaim. The album, aptly titled Whole Lot To Say, is a perfect representation of where she is at as a professional musician and how her music has evolved from her debut release in 2011. The album is hard-hitting, featuring ballsy blues-flavoured up-tempo tracks and heartfelt searing ballads. The first single from the album, Fine Lines was released late 2013 and garnered great airplay support around the country. The second single Revolving Door, which was released to radio in July has been quickly following suit, earning her a whole new legion of supportive fans. As a fiercely independent musician, Jess knows the importance to taking her music to the people, which is why she views touring as such an important process.
It’s actually been two years since Jess Holland’s last East Coast tour when she was on the road supporting her debut release. She says she can’t wait to get back into the music heartland of Victoria and South Australia. “I was very lucky in the 2012 tour performing with great musicians and visiting some great towns,” she says. “We had lots of fun, not just performing but experiencing the sites in each location. We played locations from Mudgee to Melbourne, which was fantastic. This time I am returning to Melbourne, but taking another route on the way. This time around I am visiting quite a few places I’ve never been, which is always exciting. I love performing in new locations and spreading my music to a new fan base.”
After wrapping up her East Coast run of dates, Jess plans to head over to the West Coast for a string of shows. She also has a new single up her sleeve, due for release in the coming months, and will be announcing her gig dates at the 2014 Tamworth Country Music Festival. It’s certainly been a huge year so far, and it looks like Jess Holland isn’t planning on slowing down anytime soon.
