FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – MEDIA RELEASE
Country singer songwriter Jess Holland has been forced to cancel her Southern Tour dates for October due to illness. The remaining dates of her tour – in Gawler SA, Melbourne and Ballarat VIC – will be rescheduled. The powerhouse singer was diagnosed with laryngitis on the weekend and is under doctor’s orders to rest her voice. “To wake up without a voice and told you have laryngitis is not a great feeling for a singer,” she says. “I guess after all the kilometres I travel and the touring, something has got to give.”
Jess Holland is fast being recognised as one of the hardest working artists on the country music scene. She keeps to a rigorous touring schedule and is on the road more days than she is at home. It is this hard working, down to earth attitude, and her killer vocals that has endeared her to music fans around Australia. She performed at Deni Ute Muster last week before becoming unwell. The diagnosis of laryngitis came after she lost her voice completely on the Sunday of her first Victorian show date.
It has been a couple of years since Jess Holland’s last Southern Tour and she says she was really looking forward to playing to audiences in Victoria and South Australia again. “I am extremely disappointed for the cancellation of the tour,” she says. “I love getting out and performing at new venues and because I rarely play in the south, I was very excited to keep the momentum going after the muster.”
Determined to make it up to fans, Jess is already working on return dates. She is looking forward to making the Southern Tour happen when she is back in full voice. “I am definitely working on rescheduling the entire tour for early 2015, which is exciting,” she says. “I look forward to getting among it and bringing the action of a Jess Holland show to the south.”
Jess released her latest long-player earlier this year to much acclaim. The album, aptly titled Whole Lot To Say, is a perfect representation of where she is at as a professional musician and how her music has evolved from her debut release in 2011. The album is hard-hitting, featuring ballsy blues-flavoured up-tempo tracks and heartfelt searing ballads. The first single from the album, Fine Lines was released late 2013 and garnered great airplay support around the country. The second single Revolving Door, which was released to radio in July has been quickly following suit, earning her a whole new legion of supportive fans.
