Jess Holland

Kicking off what is destined to be another massive year, powerhouse singer-songwriter Jess Holland is heading to the 2015 Tamworth Country Music Festival with a swag of hits and some new material. The year that was 2014 was huge for this incredible vocalist, touring relentlessly, joining festival line-ups and releasing her long awaited second full-length album Whole Lot To Say. Now she is gearing up for an equally big year in 2015 starting with her shows in country music’s heartland in January.

This dynamic artist will be performing a combination of band, trio and solo spots at the festival and as usual, all her shows promise to be high energy unforgettable performances. Her sassy, fun, rockin’ vibe mean that every show in the company of Jess Holland is a party. “I will be performing songs from my latest album as well as my debut album,” says Jess. “I also love to throw in a few songs that are my favourites to perform from artists that have influenced my career.”

Jess Holland’s recent album release, aptly titled Whole Lot To Say, is a perfect representation of where she is at as a professional musician and how her music has evolved from her debut release in 2011. The album is hard-hitting, featuring ballsy blues-flavoured up-tempo tracks and heartfelt searing ballads. The first single from the album, Fine Lines was released late 2013 and garnered great airplay support around the country. The second single Revolving Door, which was released to radio in July 2014 has been quickly following suit, earning her a whole new legion of supportive fans.

“I have been extremely busy since the recording and release of my new album,” she says of 2014. “Since then, I have been constantly touring and performing at some fantastic locations. The NT tour was definitely one of the highlights, as well as the performance at the Deniliquin Ute Muster.”

As a fiercely independent musician, Jess knows the importance to taking her music to the people, which is why she views touring and attending events such as Tamworth Country Music Festival as such an important process. In fact, she has attended the festival since she was young and always works her calendar around the January event. “I started from an early age busking in Tamworth,” she says. “I have plenty of fond memories – it’s just a really laid back environment where you can see so much live music at any time day or night. Tamworth is not only a great way to perform your music and play to new audiences, but catch up with friends that you haven’t seen all year. It is a chance to perform with friends and have a lot of fun doing so.”

Already 2015 is shaping up to be an event bigger year for Jess. Post-Tamworth, she will be releasing more singles from Whole Lot To Say and already has a solid year of touring in the pipeline.
