FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – MEDIA RELEASE
The Wolfe Brothers are gearing up for a very special celebration, highlighting 50 years of revered organisation Southern Tasmanian Netball Association [STNA]. Joining them for this special evening in February will be country music’s newest sweetheart X-Factor finalist Caityn Shadbolt. This is a concert event guaranteed to delight all music lovers and shine a light on the work the STNA has done tin SouthernTasmania over the past five decades.
Nick Wolfe says the band can’t wait to kick off the 50 year celebrations. “The boys and I are delighted to be part of the 50 year celebrations of the STNA,” he says. “Thinking back to the early days of the band I believe one of the very first gigs we ever played was for our local netball club… and here we are, many years, many shows and many netball games later, together again!”
Proud Tasmanians, The Wolfe Brothers always jump at a chance to perform in back at home. “It’s always great to play in our home state,” says Nick. “The more we tour and travel, the more we realise how good we’ve got it down here, there’s no crowd like a Tassie crowd. It’s gonna be party time at Aurora Sports Stadium!”
This year is already looking like a massive year for Tasmania’s favourite sons. With three nominations in the CMC Awards – Group or Duo of the Year, Oz Artist of the Year and Australian Video of the Year, the year is kicking off in fine form. The rockin’ four-piece started 2015 touring with rock legend Angry Anderson for a string of dates throughout New South Wales, including an incredible show at the Tamworth Country Music Festival.
Joining The Wolfe Brothers for this special night of celebration is 2014 X-Factor finalist Caitlyn Shadbolt. She needs no introduction to country music fans and has already got a huge fan base in the region. “Caitlyn may be from the small town of Gympie, but the support she had from Tasmanians while on X-Factor last year was quite incredible,” says Nick. “She’s very excited to play to you all and we’re excited that she can be part of the huge show we’ve got planned!”
Known as Gympie’s own ‘pocket rocket’, Caitlyn Shadbolt is fast earning a reputation for her writing prowess and infectious enthusiasm. She recently released her debut single Maps Out The Window, which seared up to #1 on the iTunes Country Chart. The songstress says she is really looking forward to being part of The Wolfe Brothers show. “Hanging out with The Wolfe Brothers is always great,” she says. “So this gig is bound to be fun! Tassie is one of my favourite places to perform, the crowds there have always been awesome!”
The Wolfe Brothers experienced an incredible 12-months last year. The release of their second long-player Nothin’ But Trouble has seen their music searing up the charts and winning them the hearts of a whole new legion of fans. The album burst onto the ARIA Country Chart at #2 and entered the ARIA mainstream chart at #16. The first single from the new release – That Kinda Night – smashed into #1 position on both country radio and the CMC video charts. It’s no surprise that their latest album was so warmly received by Australian audiences, after all, their debut It’s On rocketed through the charts, firmly cementing the band as one to watch.
Don’t miss your chance to celebrate 50 years of the Southern Tasmania Netball Association with The Wolfe Brothers and special guest Caitlyn Shadbolt. Tickets on sale now. This is an all-ages event.
