FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – MEDIA RELEASE
The crazy and hilarious comedy that is Marty Putz – Putzing Around returns to the Wonderland Spiegeltent as part of the 2015 Melbourne International Comedy Festival. This must-see spectacle for all ages is a fun and infectious and children can’t get enough of Marty’s cheeky and charming nature. With exploding suits, huge marshmallow fights and loads of gizmos, gadgets and weird inventions, the show is full of audience participation.
Audiences are encouraged to warm up the vocal chords and stretch their throwing arms… and there is a parental warning too… you may find yourself acting like a 10-year-old. The 50-minute show is jam-packed with mayhem that will have audience members – adults and children alike – hurling, ducking, screaming and laughing.
Marty began his career in his hometown of Toronto, Canada. He won Campus Comedian Of The Year due to his immense popularity on the university and college circuits. He soon landed a spot hosting the popular Fox television’s Emmy award-winning show Not Just News and has called Los Angeles home for the past 20 years. He’s had appearances on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Comic Strip Live, and Make Me Laugh to name a few and performed sold-out shows in London, Cyprus, Australia and New Zealand.
His enigmatic style and infectious enthusiasm has seen him become a true family performer world-wide. In 2010, he joined the Razzamatazz Comedy Show that sold-out 15 city tours and raised funds for the Kids Foundation of New Zealand. He has recently launched a new family show entitled Very Weird & Slightly Dangerous and outside of his live touring, continues to work behind the scenes on television and website development.
In television, he wrote and produced two season of the award-winning show The Tournament that aired on CBC Canada, which was a mockumentary comedy series loosely based on his love of peewee hockey. It garnered rave reviews and led to more television work, including a show Marty created, wrote and starred in for the Cartoon Network titled Marty’s Party. He also scripted a live action version of the show for multiple theme parks across North America and ended up creating some stellar novelty products under the guise of Putz Gear, sharing his inventive silliness with the public.
