FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – MEDIA RELEASE
Friday 3rd &] Saturday 4th July 2015 | Entertainment from 4pm
It doesn’t get much better than the highly anticipated line-up for The Reef Hotel Casino’s REEF STAMPEDE at the start of July. Considered the official hoedown for the Professional Bull Rider’s (PBR) Far North Queensland event, the mini festival of fun, food & entertainment features the cream of the crop of the Australian music industry with a distinctly country flavour! Headlined by Tassie band The Wolfe Brothers and including a coveted line-up featuring Townsville’s Jade Holland and Cairns’ favourites Roz Pappalardo & The Wayward Gentlemen, Tiffany Ann Smith & Ryo Montgomery , Shari Williams and Mr Smith. The PBR is being hosted at Cairns Convention Centre on Saturday 4 July.
The Wolfe Brothers need no introduction to Australian audiences, the beloved four-piece smashed onto the Australian music scene back in 2012 on prime time television show Australia’s Got Talent. They released their debut album It’s On in January 2013 to critical acclaim, debuting on the ARIA Country Chart at #2 (behind Taylor Swift), remaining in the Top 20 for five months. The Wolfe Brothers’ second long player – Nothin’ But Trouble – seared up the ARIA charts after its release in 2014, sitting at #2 on the ARIA Country Chart and #15 on the ARIA mainstream chart. The first two singles from the release hit #1 and the band recently released their third single from the album Born and Bred, which was declared Country Pick of the Week by CMC on the day of its release.
After performing together for almost a decade, it’s no surprise that The Wolfe Brothers have built a reputation as one of the best live acts in Australia. They’ve been on the road constantly, having toured for the last 2 years with country legend Lee Kernaghan, and also performing at major festivals around Australia. The band, featuring brothers Tom and Nick Wolfe, and their long-time friends Brodie Rainbird and Casey Kostiuk, are completely at home of the stage. Their concerts are a high energy country rock experience and it’s no surprise to find they are considered one of the best live bands on the Australian touring circuit today.
Jade Holland is one of the most exciting emerging female talents on the Australian country music scene. After the success of her debut single Mess With A Girl Like Me in late 2012, she has been turning heads ever since. No stranger to the scene, this enigmatic songstress had been performing at music competitions since she was 11 and received rave reviews after her appearance at the 15th Annual World Championships of Performing Arts in Los Angeles, taking out a host of accolades. Working on the release of her debut album, she has recently released a new single Who Oh and its evident the future looks very bright for this impressive musician.
Far North Queensland musician Roz Pappalardo is one of the North’s favourite live acts. One half of indie folk duo Women in Docs, Roz has carved her own niche with her alt-country band since the release of her debut album in 2009. Her musical outfit is described as a showcase of ‘soaring and committed slide guitar, smooth upright bass, rocking drums, mad keyboard, a vintage Fender and a sassy front woman who rocks even when she sings a ballad’. There is no doubt, Roz Pappalardo and is a formiddable force and an evening in her company is immensely enjoyable and unforgettable. Roz will get audiences on their feet from the outset and won’t stop until it is turned into a real (alternative) party! Just like the bulls of the PBR, The Reef Stampede is TONNES OF BUCKING FUN!
The Reef Stampede runs across Friday 3rd and Saturday 4th July 2015 with live music and activity throughout The Reef Hotel Casino complex from 4pm nightly. Including Street characters, Mechanical bull, Texan Table Menu, prizes and giveaways. On Friday night from 7:30pm, fans will also have the chance to meet the riders at the Official PBR Rider Meet & Greet in the Sports Arena, and Saturday night will be the Official After Party hoedown for PBR Riders, PBR fans and music lovers.
