FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – MEDIA RELEASE
Returning from recording their third studio album in Nashville, Tasmanian country rockers The Wolfe Brothers are gearing up for three special home town gigs to showcase their latest material. When it came time to pick shows to give audiences a ‘sneak peek’ of the songs that will make up their third album, the first choice was to take the songs to Tassie fans.
Nick Wolfe says the band are looking forward to getting back on home soil. “As cool as Nashville is, there is truly no place like home and we can’t wait to get back,” he says. “We can’t wait to see our family, friends and fans again. We are also looking forward to a Cascade Draught and a nice Tassie grown roast lamb, they don’t do roast lamb in the USA! They don’t know what they are missing.”
The Wolfe Brothers have spent the better part of three months in Nashville working on their next studio release, which is shaping up to be their best yet. Slated for release in April 2016, they recorded under the guidance of acclaimed producer Luke Wooten [Dierks Bentley, Brad Paisley and Kellie Pickler]. Word out of Nashville is that the songs on the album are ones that will make the industry sit up and listen!
“The time over in the United States has been nothing short of amazing,” says Nick. “From the moment we got over our jet lag, we’ve been working hard on making new music. We spent the first month writing every day and wound up with a collection of over 40 songs. We had the opportunity to co-write with some really respected writers, guys like fellow Aussie Phil Barton, who wrote the US number one single Women Like You for Lee Brice. We also worked with Brett Beavers, who has written many number ones for Dierks Bentley, among others, and many more great writers. It’s such a creative and inspiring place [Nashville], and I truly believe the songs we’ve put together here are leaps and bounds ahead of our previous material. There’s a real inspired feeling within the band and I don’t think we’ve ever been so driven. It’s going to be great to bring these songs back home for everyone.”
Like every The Wolfe Brothers show, the three Tasmanian One Beer At A Time tour dates promise to be high energy, fun, good-time events. While the band will be hitting the road a lot throughout 2016, it was important for them to host their first Australian tour dates for the year in their home state. “As Tassie boys, we’ve been waking up each day pinching ourselves that our music has taken us all the way around the world,” says Nick. “But we never forget that we owe much of it to the people of Tasmania who have given us so much support from the early days, even before Australia’s Got Talent. We’ve always been fortunate to be surrounded and encouraged by great Tassie locals, so it only seems right that our first shows back in Australia are at home – we wouldn’t have it any other way.”
The Wolfe Brothers’ story is a tried and true one of local boys made good, thanks to a lot of hard work and an incredible amount of dedication. The band burst into the collective consciousness of the Australian psyche in 2012 when they were voted in second place of Australia’s Got Talent. It wasn’t a case of overnight success for the four accomplished musicians, they had been earning their stripes and honing their craft performing around the traps in Tasmania since leaving school. Their catchy brand of country rock made industry heavyweights sit up and listen, including legendary Australian artist Lee Kernaghan and his management team.
Fast forward for January 2013 and the band’s debut release It’s On spawned three Top 10 singles, including their first #1 for the heartfelt The Girl, The Bottle, The Memory. They followed it up with an equally impressive second album aptly titled Nothin’ But Trouble in September 2014, where it entered the ARIA Country Charts at #2. Two more # 1 singles – That Kinda Night and You Got To Me – proved The Wolfe Brothers were a force to be reckoned with. Before the band headed over to Nashville, they released their first live CD, The Wolfe Brothers Live at CMC Rocks QLD 2015.
On the cusp of their third studio album release, The Wolfe Brothers are in fine form, and if history is anything to go by, they are only going to get better. Renowned for their captivating live shows, their return to Tasmania for the
One Beer At A Time Tasmanian Tour promises to be something special. Tickets are on sale now.
