Jon Stevens packs the best of the best into one special tour

The Noiseworks & INXS Collection National Tour

Jon Stevens is hitting the road with a show jam-packed full of hits, hits and more hits. The Noiseworks & INXS Collection tour will showcase the best of Noiseworks’ smash hits and Jon’s favourite INXS songs, tracks which earned him a whole new fan base from his time fronting the band. Every song on the setlist is a smash radio hit and guaranteed to have audiences on their feet from the outset.

For the acclaimed singer-songwriter, the inspiration for the tour came from his fans themselves. Having just come off of the sold-out run of the Red Hot Summer Tour, Jon and his band played only the hits from his time in Noiseworks and INXS… and audiences went wild. “You’ve got 10,000 people just going bananas when you are playing those songs,” he says. “It makes you realise you have to keep playing them. People want to hear Noiseworks and INXS. My job is to make sure everyone has the maximum best time possible.”

Jon Stevens hasn’t really stopped working – touring, writing or recording – since he first started out in the industry as a young musician. Fast forward to the early 1980s and with five mates Noiseworks smashed onto the Australian airwaves with singles such as No Lies, Love Somebody, Take Me Back, Touch and In My Youth to name a few.  They were the embodiment of what Aussie rock was and should be – hard-hitting, talented and they put on a bloody good show. Never one to rest on his laurels, Jon Stevens didn’t stop working when Noiseworks when on hiatus. He followed up with solo albums, multiple stints in stage productions such as Jesus Christ Superstar and earned world-wide acclaim taking centre stage with INXS. His next band – The Dead Daisies – stepped up that international reputation with the debut single Lock and Load written with and featuring the legendary Slash on guitar.

Over the years Jon always pulls out the Noiseworks classics on tour – the songs that get fans on their feet and rockin’. This tour is an exciting opportunity to also hear the great hits from INXS. “We have all grown up listening to those songs,” he says. “They are great songs and they should still be heard live. Andrew Farris came to one of our recent shows and told me I need to play more INXS songs. So, with his blessing, and the continual requests from fans, it is Noiseworks and INXS all the way. That is all you are going to hear, songs from your youth, and songs you grew up with – iconic songs from both bands.”

Whether touring with INXS, doing the festival circuit with Noiseworks, playing his own headline solo shows to packed houses, one thing has always been consistent with Jon, it is, and always will be, about the music. His hard work over the years has truly paid off, as Jon Stevens is considered one of the country’s premier artists and a legend on the live music scene.

Tickets to The Noiseworks & INXS Collection are on sale now.

Two rock super forces head out on a massive They Who Rock national tour this November & December

Including special limited edition release 7” singles One Word & Marseilles

When it comes to two of the greatest rock bands in Australian music history, it doesn’t get much better than The Angels and the Baby Animals. Now, for the first time, these two legendary bands are joining forces and heading out on the road together for a massive They Who Rock national tour, making this the rock event not-to-miss in November and December 2019. To top it off, the bands have recorded their own versions of each other’s songs for a limited single release to celebrate the tour – with The Angels laying down the smash hit One Word, and the Baby Animals tracking the cult classic Marseilles.

No strangers to gracing each other’s stages, The Angels and the Baby Animals have been performing in each other’s periphery for decades. Most recently, they were on the same bill on a sell-out run of Red Hot Summer Tour dates that saw them rock the socks off of audiences around the country, so much so they were asked back by popular demand. It was evident that the time had come to head out on the road as a united force for a huge joint tour jam-packed with hits such as Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again, One Word, Take A Long Line, Rush You, No Secrets and Early Warning to name a few.

The Angels need little introduction to rock music fans – they are what has made rock music great in Australia. Having recently celebrated four decades since the release of their seminal sophomore album Face to Face with a sold-out tour, their songs are part of the psyche of generations. Songs such as Dogs Are Talking, Marseilles, After The Rain and Be With You to name a few, their music speaks to young and old. With the dynamic musical partnership of highly respected guitarists Rick and John Brewster, bassist Sam Brewster, drummer Nick Norton and the incomparable vocal stylings of Dave Gleeson, The Angels are a powerhouse, rocking as hard as they ever have.

Baby Animals celebrated their first #1 album as their debut self-titled release reached the top spot on the ARIA Album Chart in 1992. Fast forward 27 years and Suze DeMarchi’s reputation as a fierce and inspiring front woman remains undiminished, her rapport with songwriting partner and guitarist Dave Leslie is as dynamic as ever. Baby Animals first emerged onto the Australian music scene in 1991 and delivered four massive hits off their debut album. They also picked up three ARIA awards in 1992 and their self-titled album was named in the 100 Best Australian Albums. Their second album Shaved and Dangerous reached #2 and their 2013 release This Is Not The End reached Top 20. The band features DeMarchi, Leslie and a revered rhythm section in drummer Mick Skelton and bassist Dario Bortolin.

For Rick Brewster, the tour and subsequent 7” single releases are an exciting prospect. “The Baby Animals are a fantastic band, always have been and I can’t wait to tour with them,” he says. “Dave Leslie is one of my all-time favourite guitarists and great to watch on stage. It was a lot of fun recording their song One Word, and I love their version of our song Marseilles.”

John Brewster is in agreement. “Personally, I regard Suze DeMarchi as one of the greatest front singers this country has ever known, I love the blues in her voice,” he says. “We have developed a great friendship with the band over the years and our whole band reckons they are great – it is going to be wonderful going out on the road with them. We might even have a surprise or two in store.”

Tickets to The Angels & Baby Animals They Who Rock tour are on sale now. The Angels’ version of One Word and the Baby Animals version of Marseilles are available now digitally through Bloodlines. A limited edition 7” vinyl single will be available for collectors to purchase at the shows.

One Electric Day expands nationally in 2019 | John Farnham headlines across VIC, TAS, SA, NSW & QLD

Tickets on sale 10am AEST Thursday 6th June 2019

As it heads into its seventh year, one of Melbourne’s favourite one-day festivals, ONE ELECTRIC DAY, is going national. In an exciting coup for music-lovers, the all-Aussie rock festival, which has sold out annually since its inception, will be also heading to Launceston, Sydney, Brisbane and the Barossa in November and December this year. Headlined by the incomparable John Farnham with special guests James Reyne, Jon Stevens, Vanessa Amorosi, The Black Sorrows, and a special reformation by Southern Sons, these are shows that no music fan should miss.

ONE ELECTRIC DAY launched in Melbourne in 2013 and was a sell-out. In recent years, tickets have been snapped up within minutes of the show going on sale, making it one of the most highly anticipated music events on the Victorian calendar. Each year the 10,000-plus crowd rock out to some of the biggest names on the touring circuit today. Organised by the promoters who bring Australian audiences the revered Red Hot Summer Tour annually, ONE ELECTRIC DAY always bills the best of the best.

Promoter Duane McDonald says he is excited to expand ONE ELECTRIC DAY nationally in 2019. “There is always such a buzz around the Melbourne show,” he says. “It sells out very quickly in Werribee, and every year we get requests from interstate on when we will be bringing ONE ELECTRIC DAY further afield. This is such an exciting opportunity for us to share some of Australia’s best talent with audiences around Australia, and we are stoked to be launching the national ONE ELECTRIC DAY series with John Farnham. We expect audiences in Launceston, Sydney, Brisbane and the Barossa will embrace ONE ELECTRIC DAY the same way Victorian music-lovers have and help us make this an annual event in their towns! Let’s get rockin’.”

Considered one of the best male vocalists of all time – by both fans and fellow musicians – John Farnham has had an incredibly versatile career. His 1986 album Whispering Jack was the first record to sell over a million copies in Australia and its chart topping single You’re The Voice cemented the honey toned solo artist as ‘the voice’ of the country. Over the next several years he released hit after hit, including Pressure Down, Reasons, A Touch of Paradise, Age of Reason, Two Strong Hearts, Angels, Talk of The Town, Chain Reaction, Burn for You, Have A Little Faith (In Us) and That’s Freedom to name a few.

James Reyne has been treading the boards in the rock halls of Australian music for decades. From his time fronting the legendary Australian Crawl through to his successful solo career, James’ music is part of Australian history. As a prolific songwriter and strong vocalist, it’s no surprise that James has won accolade after accolade for his contribution to music. When Australian Crawl split in the mid-1980s, James embarked on a successful solo career. James Reye stands alone within an elite cluster of exclusive Australian performers. James will be performing Sydney, Werribee and Brisbane.

For lovers of great music, a concert experience with Jon Stevens is up there with the very best. From his Noiseworks days – and hits such as Welcome To The World, No Lies, Touch and Hot Chilli Woman – to fronting The Dead Daisies and INXS, he has made an indelible impact with his amazing vocals. Jon also has an incredible solo catalogue, his live shows are dynamic, high energy and will keep audiences on their feet. Jon’s current live show is packed full of hits and we are thrilled to have him return

Vanessa Amorosi’s recent return to the Australian stage has been embraced by audiences. Her debut album The Power (2000) demonstrated Vanessa was a force to reckon with – it notched up six nominations at the ARIA awards and saw her sing at the Sydney Olympics. It was the breakthrough Top 10 hit Absolutely Everybody that made her a household name, it stayed in the charts for six months, went certified double platinum and charted in Europe. In recent times Vanessa has returned to Australia with brand new music and is ready to unleash a full album of extraordinary material in late 2019. She has sold over two million records and is a force to be reckoned with!

The Black Sorrows are another legendary band on the 2019 line-up. With unforgettable hits such as Harley & Rose, Dear Children, The Chosen Ones, Never Let Me Go and Chained to the Wheel to Hold On To Me and New Craze, The Black Sorrows have sold more than a million albums worldwide, toured Europe (to sell-out shows) and won an ARIA for Best Band. Joe and his fantastic band will have audiences on their feet as he performs the hits that defined a generation. The Black Sorrows perform in Launceton and Barossa.

Reforming after 22-years, Southern Sons are back together for ONE ELECTRIC DAY. In the 1990s their ARIA-nominated debut self-titled album hit #5 on the charts and spawned smash hits Heart In Danger, Hold Me In Your Arms, Always & Forever and Waiting For That Train. They were one of the most loved bands of the 90s and all four members – Jack Jones, Virgil Donati, Geoff Cain and Peter Bowman – have banded back together for these special events.
