Songstress Grace Knight has announced a special Sydney show this August celebrating her magnificent back catalogue and her recently released long-player, Fragile. This is a rare opportunity to spend an evening in the company of one of the most enduring talents of the Australia music scene. With a career spanning 40 years, countless ARIA awards and nominations and chart topping recordings, she is revered by fans and critics alike.
When it comes to picking the voices that have carved out the Australian music scene over the years, Grace Knight is certainly one of the first names to come to mind. From fronting pop darlings Eurogliders to her well-established jazz career, Grace is one of those versatile performers who can turn her vocals to any style effortlessly
Her latest offering Fragile is hard to categorise. It is a bit of folk, a little bit of blues and a little bit Celtic. However, one thing is for sure, it is very easy to listen to and is guaranteed to garner her a new legion of fans. A collection of beautifully crafted songs that showcase Grace’s amazing vocal talents, Fragile is a 12-track handcrafted by her old partner in crime Bernie Lynch (the other half of the Eurogliders).
Grace Knight started her career singing in folk clubs in the UK and ‘sang’ her way over to Australia on the Women’s Weekly World Cruise. It was when she settled in Perth that she found her groove, forming Eurogliders with Bernie Lynch. The band enjoyed considerable success in Australia and overseas with hits such as Heaven (Must Be There). As the end of the Eurogliders drew near, Grace found herself a new home as one of Australia’s ladies of Jazz when she appeared in the ABC television series Come In Spinner and recorded an even more successful soundtrack. Following the incredible success of the Come in Spinner album, Grace went on to record several other hit jazz records such as Stormy Weather, Gracious and Live to name a few. She has performed for the likes of President Clinton, Princess Diana, the Thai Royal Family and five Australian Prime Ministers. There is nothing this amazing songstress can’t do.
Don’t miss your chance to share an evening in the company of this prolific entertainer. Tickets to Grace Knight’s intimate solo show are on sale now.
