The Wolfe Brothers announce new single and more tour dates

Single – What You Make It – Released Today

The Wolfe Brothers are looking forward to what is shaping up to be a busy few months ahead. With the release of their latest single – What You Make It – the fifth released from their #1 charting fifth studio album Kids On Cassette, the duo have also confirmed a swag of tour dates from April onwards, including numerous festival appearances and headline shows.

Their last single release, the title track Kids On Cassette, saw The Wolfe Brothers rack up their 16th consecutive #1 hit single on the National Radio Chart. They are also nominated for an impressive seven Golden Guitar awards at this year’s Australian Country Music Awards – originally slated for January, but now rescheduled to April at the Tamworth Country Music Festival.

What You Make It is what Nick and Tom Wolfe see as the classic Wolfe Brothers song and was penned with long-time mate Phil Barton at Nick’s kitchen table on day while he was visiting from Nashville. It is a catchy track and has already been embraced by fans.

A Ford is just Ford and there’s a million others like it, but add up all the miles and there’s some history behind it, we’ve sure had our adventures, she’s the one I learnt to drive in, that date night first kiss back seat I learned so much about life in…

“We’ve written many songs with Phil and usually due to our shared love of big anthems, we usually end up shooting for something in that zone,” says Nick. “It was really nice to write something in a different headspace with Phil this time. In many ways this is my favourite lyric on the record. It talks about how things are just things until you attach a memory to them, and then simple objects or places can come to mean so much more. If you’ve followed our band for a while and know our history, I think you’ll see how honest and ‘us’ this lyric is.”

While the start of 2022 threw a few curveballs towards the duo, they are full of optimism for the months ahead. Their national tour was due to kick off in January, however most of those shows were either cancelled or postponed through until March. The brothers can’t wait to start their tour now in April and get back out on the road to share their love of music with fans around the country.

“We are so happy with the fans response to the Kids On Cassette album and we are really looking forward to heading out on the road again,” says Tom. “Many of the 2020 and 2021 Festivals have all rescheduled for this year, so it is all looking good for everyone to get back out playing music again. We have a new show ready to go with many of the songs from the current album included. We have also added keyboards to the touring band with another Tasmanian, Scotty Targett, joining us for the shows.”

The Wolfe Brothers have also been working on their next album with producer Rod McCormack. Their sixth studio album is slated for a late-2022 release.

The Wolfe Brothers new single What You Make It is available at radio and digitally from today (Monday 14th March 2022). The Wolfe Brothers fifth studio album Kids on Cassette is out now internationally through BBR Music / BMG
