Organisers are gearing up for a massive third annual Gippsland Country Music Festival this month, with final tickets available now. The one-day festival is jam-packed with all things country and this year also offers the option for weekend camping. In 2023 the event moves to its new home at Lardner Park and is headlined by Lee Kernaghan, with Troy Cassar-Daley, Adam Brand, Beccy Cole, Sara Storer and Kaylee Bell with a host of talented country performers, including the two Local Country Showcase winners ‘Harry Hook is Real’ and ‘No Promises’. The event features food trucks, Smokehouse BBQ, carnival rides, onsite bars, market stalls and face painting.
Gates open at 10am, with the Local Country Showcase performers kicking off the entertanment from 12pm. Live music continues all day, with Lee Kernaghan taking to the stage at 8.25pm. There will also be Motocross (FMX) showcases at 3.20pm and 4.20pm, and linedancing at 5.30pm and 6.40pm. For those wanting to get into the thick of it, there is also a gumboot toss, lawn games and karaoke throughout the day.
Camping is available from Friday afternoon through until Sunday morning. All campers must have purchased a festival ticket in order to camp onsite, and all camping must be pre-booked. There are four campsite options: small, medium, large and pre-pitched. Food and beverage vendors will also be trading within the campsite on the Friday and Saturday nights.
Organiser Aidan McLaren said the team can not wait to kick off the country celebrations. “Gippsland Country Music Festival 2023 is gearing up to be an exceptional celebration of country that will bring together music lovers from all over,” he said. “With our new scenic setting and Australia’s biggest country musicians, the festival promises to be an unforgettable experience for all who attend. The campgrounds are expected to be a hub of activity, with people eager to soak up the festival’s atmosphere and connect with fellow music fans. It’s a really exciting time for us. Gippsland Country is also a celebration of community and connection, with people coming together to share their love for country music and the great outdoors.
